SRAM New Red Road Group Build Kit. Redesigned from the ground up and gunning for certain electronic groupsets, the newest evolution of SRAM's podium-sweeping RED gruppo is 200 grams lighter overall and features dramatic improvements in performance throughout.
SRAM began with the crankset, whose X-Glide rings ensure pinpoint shifting precision. The crank is lighter, stiffer and has an impressive new graphics scheme to complement any bike.
The front derailleur is a completely new design philosophy featuring an improved range-of-motion which maintains a constant angular relationship with the chain and eliminates the need to trim or micro-adjust. Gone is the titanium cage in favor of a stiffer and more responsive mix of steel and aluminum. Includes an integrated chain-catcher to prevent costly chain-drops.
Using feedback generated by you, the rider, the new Red rear derailleur has been completely overhauled to bring you to the bleeding edge of shift performance and light weight. SRAM's biggest concern here was the most-discussed topic for all Red riders, driveline noise. Using improved mounting hardware and redesigned pulleys, the Red rear derailleur is now a much quieter, better shifting, and lighter component.
Central to the new Red groupset is the XG-1090 cassette. Absolutely the most in-depth endeavor in cycling design engineering, SRAM's no-expense-spared XG cassette provides you with a silent and efficient gear change no matter what the circumstances.
Levers and brakes feature re-vamped ergonomics, weight reduction, and light actuation for unmatched performance.
SRAM even went so far as to design their venerable GXP bottom bracket, which simultaneously provides industry-leading protection and almost zero friction.
This group weighs in about 1739 grams for BB30 (1843 grams for GXP). Group weight varies depending on cassette ratio, crankset length/ratio, etc.
